What We Believe: A Heart Cry for Real Revelation

Our Vision: Heart Cry Church exists to reach and teach men and women, boys and girls for Christ. “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”

Romans 12:1

A recent Gallup poll shows that belief in God is at a new low in the United States. There appears to be a trend that Americans have grown distrustful of organized religion, while others share they were raised “without religion”. However, we are seeing that things are not as hopeless as they might seem. This news is simply a clear indicator that there is a desperate heart cry for a real power encounter with Jesus.

And he is answering.

Streams in the Wasteland

Jesus Answers the Heart Cry

There is a desperate need to make disciples in the Western church. And we are seeing that the hunger for real revelation, to truly taste and see that the Lord is good, is growing.

What We Believe – Heart Cry Church: People all around the world are encountering Jesus in dreams and visions. In fact, believers in the United States and the rest of the Western church are experiencing Jesus in a miraculous and very real way. His presence is rocking preconceived notions and long-held traditions. These encounters are causing a new movement of believers that truly understands the need to equip and release disciples.

Streams in the Wasteland

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

Even though the numbers in the Gallup poll say one thing, we know God is in our midst. He is making ways in the wilderness of self-reliance and comfort. He is making streams in the wasteland of apathy and tolerance. He is mighty and powerful to save. He quiets us with his love and rejoices over his people with singing.

All of the old traditions and religious veils that have pushed people away from the church building are being stripped away. In his goodness, God is tearing down those veils and purifying hearts.

“But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:14-16

Turning to the Lord

Our God is raising up a new generation of followers of Christ, ones who earnestly seek the Father and hunger and thirst for righteousness. Just as King Asa took action to remove the detestable idols from the land and called together the people of God, we are seeing believers from all over the world come together to seek God and offer themselves as living sacrifices. The Word promises that when we earnestly seek after God, we will find him.

Heart Cry

A New Season

The Church needs to be sensitive to the season of change we are entering and join together in a covenant to seek the Lord. There is a very real need to help our congregations hear from the Lord. In order to meet the challenge of making and releasing disciples, believers need the ability to stand alone and to be highly reproducible. Not only that, the church must be willing to lovingly obey the Lord’s command to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice in an act of true worship, a fragrant offering to our heavenly Father.

How to Pray for Disciple Makers Around the World

As believers across the globe seek to obey the Lord’s command to go and make disciples, they desperately need your prayers. The enemy is always on the loose, prowling around like a lion seeking people to devour. Please join us in praying:

  • For the Spirit to soften the hearts of unbelievers
  • That disciple makers remain close to the Lord through prayer and fasting
  • For boldness and obedience in following the Spirit’s leading
  • Disciple makers will be good listeners, not only to those they are reaching but also to the Spirit
  • For leaders to embrace the culture they’re in and to truly love the people they serve

We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are inspired by God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Peter 1:21)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent who has revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Luke 3:22)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31)

We believe in the creation of mankind in God’s image, and the fall of man, resulting in universal guilt and total depravity; and the necessity, therefore, of redemption and restoration; that all men and women are lost spiritually and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:17)

We believe salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life. (Luke 24:47, John 3:3)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life in the presence of our Lord, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. (Matthew 25:46, Mark 9:43-48)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church, which has the duty to preach the Gospel to every person. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:22)

We believe that we must dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of teaching, preaching, the prophetic, the apostolic, and evangelism. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

We believe in upholding the ordinances of the church of water baptism and holy communion.

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:47,48, Romans 6:4)

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements—bread and the fruit of the vine—, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26), and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers “till He comes!”
